Initial Research and Route Planning
The first step I took was to start searching on a number of online trekking websites to plan the most appropriate Bali Pass Trek. When it came to the physiographical details of the destination, Himalaya Shelter’s site was full of fixed itinerary and maps, photographs, costs and expenditure details for the trek. The beauty and influencers of the Bali Pass Trek are that it involves high altitude, steep climbs and the beautiful views it offers.
Planning the Trek
The Bali pass trek trekking route may usually take 8 to 9 days, and the start and end point is at Dehradun. Here’s how I planned my schedule:
Day 1: Dehradun to Sankri Base Camp
- Distance: 190 km
- Duration: 8-9 hours
- Overnight Stay: Hotel in Sankri
Day 2: Sankri to Cheludgad Near Seema
- Distance: 25 km (Drive + Trek)
- Duration: 6-7 hours
- Overnight Stay: Camp
Day 3: Cheludgad to Devsu Bugyal Trek
- Distance: 6 km
- Overnight Stay: Camp
…the same details of the exposure for the remaining days up to day 8/9.
Permits and Packing Essentials
Permits are required in the course of the trek, and Himalaya Shelter is very helpful in the procurement of the permits. They also provided a list of gear they recommend; when it comes to packing, that makes things easier. Their packages were meals and accommodations that let me concentrate on what was before, the adventurous part.
Stake Out A Cultural As Well As A Natural Setting
The most beneficial component of the Bali Pass Trek is the opportunity to interact with people of the local region. Imitating Himalaya Shelter’s steps, I intended to engage with local dwellers and understand and, therefore, value their lifestyle.
Embarking on the Trek
My schedule was nice and tight, and I managed to pack all the necessary gear as stated in Himalaya Shelter checklist. Every day was another prospect of new scenery, from meadows to steep rocky cliffs’ paths usefully mixed with stunning views.
By this well-planned schedule and infusing resources gotten from Himalaya Shelter, I made my Bali Pass Trek not only an adventure, but an epic one at that.
